Staff and service users of Spark took part in the in the national recovery walk in Newcastle. The walk was to raise awareness of recovery in all its forms.
Representatives of Acorn, Delphi and Red Rose Recovery were also involved in the 30-minute walk from the Civic Centre in Newcastle down to Exhibition Park.
Many activities were on offer throughout the day such as meditation, reiki, live music and a shaman cleansing tent.
Melanie O’Neill, Volunteer Co-ordinator at Spark, ‘My favourite part of the day was a young gentleman from the BAME community in Blackburn who was new to recovery and was able to take that first step.
Whilst feeling isolated to his current situation, on the way home, he left with a beaming smile and looking forward to future events.’
