Spark, Blackburn with Darwen’s drug and alcohol service, is encouraging organisations across the borough to take part in a more open conversation about wellbeing at work; one that looks at how alcohol affects energy, focus and how people feel day to day.
As part of this, partners are invited to join a free webinar led by Scott Woolley, founder of Arclett, exploring “sober curiosity” and the growing shift in how people think about alcohol in everyday working life.
Scott brings over 15 years of experience in drug and alcohol treatment, alongside more than 11 years of lived experience alcohol free. His approach combines professional insight with a practical, real world perspective on how alcohol can influence sleep, confidence, focus and overall wellbeing.
Rather than focusing on stopping drinking, the session creates space for reflection and informed choice. It explores how small changes can help people feel more energised, present and in control of their routines.
The conversation comes at a time when attitudes towards alcohol are shifting, with more people questioning long established habits and considering how alcohol fits into a healthy working life.
What the session will cover
- Changing attitudes towards alcohol and the rise of sober curiosity
- The link between alcohol, wellbeing and workplace performance
- Managing stigma and social pressure around not drinking
- Practical ways to build healthier, more sustainable routines

Spark is encouraging partners across the public sector, voluntary sector and wider system to attend the session, share it within their organisations and consider how similar conversations could support their teams.
